This is just a heads up to anyone out there who might be new to the world of blogging in the sense that you may never have bothered to or wanted to follow a blog, but now you'd like to. ;)
One of the potentially annoying things about following a blog is that sometimes you go to it, click on it, hoping for a new post or perhaps that next post in a series of posts that you have been tracking or enjoying, only to discover that there hasn't been any 'latest posts' since the last time you checked.
Best way to get around this and to track when there are new posts on a blog is to subscribe to its RSS feed.
All you need to do is go to the feature on the right hand side of our blog that says Subscribe to Feed. Under the 'Posts' dropdown menu click on 'Atom.' You'll then be taken to a feed reader view of the blog. In the yellow box click on 'subscribe to feed.'
What happens now is that instead of needing to open a blog to see if there is a new post you can simply open your feeds list (in between favorites and history in your web browser), and if there is new content on the blog the blog title will be in bold rather than regular text. Click, and away you go. No time wasting, which by the way was almost the title of this blog!

What is RSS?
RSS (Rich Site Summary) is a format for delivering regularly changing web content. Many news-related sites, blogs and other online publishers syndicate their content as an RSS Feed to whoever wants it.
Benefits and Reasons for using RSS?
RSS solves a problem for people who regularly use the web. It allows you to easily stay informed by retrieving the latest content from the sites you are interested in. You save time by not needing to visit each site individually. You ensure your privacy, by not needing to join each site's email newsletter. The number of sites offering RSS feeds is growing rapidly and includes big names like Yahoo News.
